What is Genes Day?

Genes Day is International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association's official celebration of all forms of Down syndrome. Participants donate money to wear their “jeans” in the school or workplace and in return learn all about the special “genes” of mosaic Down syndrome and Down syndrome through our printable flyers for adults and children and our special games that help children learn the differences and similarities of their peers with Down syndrome and mosaic Down syndrome. This is a fun and unique way to pave the way for individuals with mosaic Down syndrome and Down syndrome who live within the community, so when they are adults they will have a successful and fulfilling life throughout their community. It is IMDSA's intention to break the barriers and make extinct the stereotypes surrounded by this chromosomal anomaly. TOP

International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association provides information and support to families and individuals throughout the world with mosaic Down syndrome. The world is a big place! We currently have literature in three languages and are working to provide more information in these languages. IMDSA's Outreach Program provides this information and support to these families and individuals as well as medical and academic professionals who serve our families because we believe that it takes more than a village to raise a child with mosaic Down syndrome! Because there is very little information on mosaic Down syndrome, IMDSA continues to seek out this information for our families and individuals. With generous donations such as these, IMDSA is able to provide research scholarships to students interested in the field of mosaic Down syndrome. TOP
