My Child has Down syndrome. Will this conference provide information for me and my family pertaining to Down syndrome?
Yes! This is a Down syndrome Conference for ALL forms of Down syndrome . Because individuals with mosaic Down syndrome experience all the same delays and health concerns as someone with Down syndrome, our topics and speakers will address those issues that all individuals with Down syndrome may experience.
Will you have topics that will address my families needs according to my child's age?
Yes! This is a life-span conference and there will be topics addressed no matter if your child is an infant or adult!
How many break-out sessions will you have?
Currently, we are planning to have 4 break-out sessions throughout Saturday and Sunday. This will meet all of our attendees needs. No matter if you are interested in the latest of research news, tips for your infant or young child, or how to help your adolecent or adult reach their ultimate potential!
I would like to participate in research, but just don't have the time to make it to extra appointments. Will researchers be availble during the conference weekend?
Yes! We realize that families do not have a lot of time to participate in research during their busy schedules. And, we realize that researchers have difficulty finding enough participants to conduct their research! Throughout the day Friday various researchers will be available on site to conduct their research with all interested participants! (appointments will be neccessary and you will be notified of your appointment times before the conference) Just indicate on your registration form that you are interested in participating in research and we will set you up appointments.
What do you have available for my children to do?
Children ages 2-12 will have a great time at our Kid Konference! And, youth ages 13-adult will have a blast at our Youth Conference! Siblings are welcome!!
What else is there to do throughout the weekend?
We have many exciting things planned throughout the weekend! Just go to extras to find out more!
I live outside of the US and need a VISA to attend. Can you provide me with an invitation?
Yes! Just send us an email with all the contact information and identification of each individual interested in attending. Please include the reason you think you will benefit from this conference.
I would really like to attend the conference, but I just don't have the money. Is there a way you can help me?
Our Family Assistance Coordinator will be happy to help you find programs in your area with available funds! Just send us an email with your name, address, child's age, and how many adults and children will be attending.
