Genes Day paves the way for individuals with mosaic Down syndrome and Down syndrome who live within the community, so when they are adults they will have a successful and fulfilling life through their community. It is IMDSA's intention to break the barriers and make extinct the stereotypes surrounded by this chromosomal anomaly.

International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association is proud to bring you its annual Genes Day: An Awareness Project

Genes Day provides a fun and interesting way for those in schools, the workplace and throughout the community to educate others on mosaic Down syndrome and Down syndrome.

In celebration of Genes Day some families raise money. This is definitely not required to participate, but it can make it fun and facilitate ways to simultaneously raise money for IMDSA. If you would like to raise money, you can form a team on our fundraiser site, Mightycause.

Here's an easy step-by-step on how you can participate:

1. Create your team here and make your donation of $25 (or more) in order to receive your FREE IMDSA t-shirt.
**Note: In order to receive your IMDSA t-shirt in time to wear on March 21st, we need to receive your donation by March 10, 2016!**

2. Start recruiting others to donate in your loved ones name on your team page via Razoo.com.
(Tip: Use Social media to share your team page!)

3. Collect the t-shirt sizes of people that donate.
(You can track who donates on your team page as long as their donation is not anonymous.)

4. Continue raising awareness in your community!

5. On March 21st, perform your one or more Random Act of Kindness while wearing your new IMDSA t-shirt.
Be sure to include your loved one with mosaic Down syndrome! AND take pictures to post to social media using #WDSD16 to maximize the reach! Tag IMDSA on Facebook or @IMDSA on Twitter and we will share your photo as well!

6. Most importantly, have FUN!

Genes Day is held in conjunction with World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st every year. Internationally, The Down Syndrome International (DSI) hosts WDSD to spread awareness of Down syndrome throughout the world. In the United States, we have collaborated with other organizations to bring you another fabulous way to celebrate the special day of March 21st called the Random Acts of Kindness Campaign.
